Watch: Famous YouTuber banned from Russia tours Hungary and Romania

The YouTube channel Bald and Bankrupt is run by English travel vlogger Benjamin Rich, better known as Mr. Bald. In his videos, he presents his travels to different countries. He is mainly interested in post-Soviet places, so Hungary and Romania were a given when he was choosing his future destinations.

In a video he posted a month ago, his destination was Romania. However, when he saw the “mega Soviet-looking railway station” in Szolnok, he took an “executive decision” and got off the train that was going from Budapest Keleti Railway Station to Romania. Mr. Bald has taken some time exploring Szolnok’s railway station and its surroundings, after which he got on another train and left for Arad, Romania.

On 1 September 2022, Rich posted a vlog to his YouTube channel announcing he had been arrested and subsequently ordered to leave Russia. He announced that it would be his final video covering travels through Russia, as he had been banned from returning due to being convicted of “discrediting” the Russian military under Russian 2022 war censorship laws.
